Homelessness
Homelessness is increasing in the United States and we are doing our part to protect this vulnerable population in our community. In 2013 there was 862 people reported as homeless in the Akron area. Of the 862 homeless people 97 were veterans, 155 were mentally ill, 184 had chronic substance abuse, and 104 were victims of domestic violence.
There are many children in Akron who are considered homeless as well. In 2013 there were 207 homeless children with 10 of them living on the streets and not in a shelter. Our mission is to support and help feed this community. Our goal is to motivate, uplift, and encourage change through prayer and by providing resources.
